The Way to Convert the Sun into Energy

In solar power electricity applications, the solar panels collect photons from the sun to generate energy. Electrical fields in the solar cells pull the free electrons in a directional current from which metal contacts in the solar cell can generate electricity.

The electrical current then travels along a cable. The length and size of the cable is vital because there can be a loss of electricity if the cable is too small or thin. The lost electricity will be converted to heat, possibly to the point where the cabling cannot be used again. The cable connects the solar panels to a solar regulator or inverter.
